It looks like the long, confusing recruitment process for 4-star defensive lineman Tyson Bacon has come to an end. Originally, he committed to Tennessee football last year, but he then backed off that pledge and opened things back up.

He was still high on the Vols and was set to take an official visit to Knoxville on June 20. Now, however, that trip is going to be wiped off the board. That's because after an OV with the Miami Hurricanes, Bacon has shut down his process for a second time. On Tuesday night, breaking news came in that he has indeed committed to play for the ACC powerhouse:

4-star Tennessee target Tyson Bacon has committed ot Miami

This is no doubt some pretty disappointing news for head man Josh Heupel. When Bacon first committed to UT, fans were pretty dang excited, as he no question has a bright future ahead of him at the next level. Bacon checks in at 6-3, 265 pounds and he's a force in the middle.

However, from the moment he gave Tennessee his verbal, several other schools upped their recruiting efforts, which ultimately led to him opening things up. Mario Cristobal and Miami went all-in to land him and the Canes certainly turned his head over the weekend.

Bacon previously took visits to meet with Florida and Georgia, while he was supposed to visit Tennessee and Alabama later this month. Instead, he has made the decision to call Coral Gables home for the next 4-5 years. Miami's impressive 2026 class continues to get stronger.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Bacon is ranked four stars, the No. 36 DL in the country and No. 302 player nationally for his class. Tennessee supporters were dreaming of him signing with the program in December, but that's unfortunately not going to end up happening. Barring a huge surprise, Bacon will be Miami-bound after his high school playing days come to a close.
