Tennessee football has produced some great players in the NFL, and that continues in the Josh Heupel era. One young player who has found some success in the league is Jaylen McCollough, who played at Tennessee from 2019 to 2023.

McCollough didn't hear his name called in the 2024 NFL Draft, but he did sign an Undrafted Free Agent contract with the Los Angeles Rams. He has since earned a spot on the Rams' roster and has become a key player on their defense.

Los Angeles led the Raiders with less than a minute and a half left in the game, but McCollough called the game before the Raiders could get things going on offense, securing the win for the Rams.

The game-winning interception was McCollough's second interception of the day and third of the season. He also had an interception two weeks ago against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers, which resulted in his first career touchdown.

McCollough was a key player for Tennessee's defense. He played in 60 games throughout his career, totaling 242 tackles and six interceptions. He might not have been drafted, but he has proven to become a valuable piece of the Rams defense, with former Tennessee teammate Byron Young also making an impact.

Los Angeles has had a tough year, but the Rams improved to 2-4 with McCollough's game-clinching interception. If the Rams look to make the playoffs, they might have to rely on their young defense to get them there. The Rams have a short week as they prepare for a Thursday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings in a few days.
