Y'all remember Joe Milton III? Yeah, the former Tennessee quarterback who led the Volunteers to 15 wins, including a victory over the Clemson Tigers in the 2022 Capital One Orange Bowl. Well, once he was drafted into the NFL, he was far from done with the Vols.
Now, the quarterback, who is currently on the Dallas Cowboys' roster, is working with the next generation. Recently, four-star Tennessee commit Legend Bey shared a photo of Milton and himself following what appeared to be a joint workout.
"Got work in with a GBO LEGEND!!!" Bey wrote on social media. "Go Vols!!!"

Once a former player leaves a program for the next level, they have no requirement to help ensure that their collegiate team continues to succeed. Milton clearly doesn't live by the motto.
Bey is a four-star athlete, playing reps at both quarterback and running back. The class of 2026 prospect is seemingly unstoppable on the field, especially as a dual-threat quarterback (much like Milton was in college).
Legend Bey high school stats
- 21 games played
- 2,175 passing yards
- 22 passing touchdowns
- 13 interceptions
- 2,585 rushing yards
- 34 rushing touchdowns
Over his sophomore and junior seasons, Bey amassed an astronomical 56 touchdowns over 21 games. With nearly 5,000 all-purpose yards, Bey has proved himself to be a step above a dual-threat quarterback, earning more yards and touchdowns on the ground than through the air.
While Milton was an excellent runner, his collegiate stats don't quite compare to Bey's high school stats so far. However, it never hurts to have a proven collegiate quarterback on your side as a young prospect.
Joe Milton III senior seasons stats (2023)
- 2,813 passing yards
- 20 passing touchdowns
- 5 interceptions
- 299 rushing yards (includes yards lost on sacks)
- 7 rushing touchdowns
Milton was a leader for the Vols on the offensive side of the ball and was even tied with running back Dylan Sampson for the most rushing touchdowns by the team during his final year at Tennessee. Bey and Milton teaming up is an awesome look for the Volunteers and shows a lot of promise for the future of the Tennessee football program.
