Is some good news on the way for the Vols?

With the June official visits wrapped up for the Tennessee football team, the expectation is that some big-time commitments will be on the way for head man Josh Heupel. Among those on 'commit watch' is no question a highly-touted safety out of Georgia.

This past weekend, defensive back Jowell Combay took his Knoxville official visit and things went pretty awesome for him. He's been quite high on the Vols for a while and the trip to campus turned his head. His latest social media post has plenty of people talking, with it looking like Tennessee is in great shape to land his pledge. Combay is all set to announce his decision on July 9:

4-star DB Jowell Combay has Tennessee among his finalists with a July 9 decision date

A lot of us thought this was a commitment post from Combay, but he's yet to fully shut things down - that will be coming in the next few weeks. The Vols aren't the only program who remain in the hunt here, however, as multiple other schools are going all-in for his services.

Throughout his recruitment, Combay has picked up more than 30 offers. However, this appears to be a battle between Tennessee, Missouri, Wisconsin and South Carolina. He took official visits to all four of those schools this spring.

The 6-1, 190-pounder is ranked three stars, the No. 46 safety in the country and No. 53 player overall from Georgia according to 247Sports. Combay is a gamer and he's no question got a bright future at the next level. Will that future be in the SEC with Tennessee?

Come July 9, we'll know the answer to that question, but the Vols indeed are in a good spot to potentially grab his verbal. It won't be easy with the other finalists making their last-minute pitches, but Heupel is going to be doing the same. Combay could end up stunning us by picking a different school, but don't be surprised if he rocks with Tennessee in the end.
