Former Tennessee basketball lockdown defender Jahmai Mashack has been named as one of several pieces in a complicated and confusing trade involving seven NBA franchises.
The trade surrounds Kevin Durant and his move from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets but will also involve seven other teams, including the Golden State Warriors and the Mavericks.
Shams Charania has reported the official details of the trade, confirming the confusing moving pieces a few days after the NBA Draft.
PHX: Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Khaman Maluach, Rasheer Fleming, Koby Brea, Daeqwon Plowden, 2nd

HOU: Kevin Durant, Clint Capela
BKN: 2 2nds
GSW: Alex Toohey, Jahmai Mashack
ATL: 2nd swap, David Roddy, cash
LAL: Adou Thiero
MIN: Rocco Zikarsky, 2 2nds, cash
Mashack won't play for the Golden State Warriors despite being traded to The Bay. Instead, this will secure Mashack's trade from Golden State to the Memphis Grizzlies, as confirmed by Mashack's mom on social media.
"Ummm...it's tight to see your name being in a Shams tweet, even if you're the tiniest little nugget at the end of the food chain! But the jokes at the house will be brutal!" Meika Mashack shared on X.
(Shack is still going to Memphis. GS trade should go through now.)"
Mashack did not make his NBA Summer League debut on Saturday in the Grizzlies' win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. That is likely due to the complicated nature of this trade, but as long as the trade goes through with Mashack being traded to the Warriors, there won't be any issues with Mashack being confirmed on the Grizzlies' Summer League roster.
The Grizzlies have Sunday off before playing their next Summer League game on Monday night. If the trade details are confirmed for both Mashack trades, he should be ready to make his debut with the Grizzlies.
