Today, the Tennessee Vols held their pro day in front of NFL scouts. This draft is a big year for the Vols, with Tennessee potentially having three players drafted in the first round, a huge accomplishment in the modern era.

One player everyone has had their eye on is Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy, a projected top-15 pick who missed all of last season with an ACL injury and skipped the workout portion of the NFL combine. Well, he ran today and let’s just say he killed it. Take a look:

Jermod McCoy is a lock for the 1st round now

There were always questions about how McCoy would look after his ACL recovery, and he completely shut the door on them. A 4.38 40-yard dash is an incredibly good number, and he still has room to grow on that after he’s in full gear, no pun intended. Plus, a 38” vertical jump at 10’7” broad jump is good as well, showing off how explosive he is. He didn't lose that aspect of his game from ther tear, that's for sure.

I think a really good landing spot would be the Dallas Cowboys for McCoy. The Cowboys have the No. 12 pick, and this would be a great place to pick McCoy. Dallas was dead last in the NFL in passing yards allowed last year, and it’s clear that Daron Bland isn't the guy who can be a No. 1. Either way, I'm now frankly excited to see where McCoy can go. I don't think it's insane to say he could be drafted in the top 10.

The encouraging part is that McCoy has all the film and has shown he's an elite cover guy who has the traits you want in a top cornerback. He's got the size, speed, and football acumen, but many were worried about how McCoy would look after the ACL tear, and after the combine, when he sat out, people got even more worried. Well, it seems as if everything is great, and he put on a show in Knoxville today. It's going to be fun hearing his name called on Draft day.
