Joe Milton is still battling for the QB2 spot on the Dallas Cowboys' depth chart. The Cowboys lost their Preseason Week 2 game against the Baltimore Ravens 31-13 in a game where Milton ran the offense for most of the game, but his performance wasn't quite good enough to secure the Cowboys' backup quarterback job.

Milton finished the game, going 9-for-18 through the air for 122 yards and one interception. While he didn’t have a great day as the Cowboys’ signal caller, he did make some spectacular throws that has to excite the Cowboys coaching staff about his potential.

The Cowboys were down by 11 points in the third quarter and they were able to flip the field and get into field goal range thanks to a 49-yard dime by Milton to wide receiver Jonathan Mingo.

Despite the perfect pass to Mingo, the rest of the night was less than impressive. He took a sack in the endzone to give up a safety for the Ravens' first points of the game and continues to struggle with overthrowing receivers.

He overthrew one pass that reached the end zone but fell right into the hands of a Ravens defensive back, turning the ball over late in the second quarter.

The Cowboys have one more preseason game remaining before they travel to Philadelphia for their season opener against the Eagles.

Milton will have one more opportunity to solidify his spot as the Cowboys backup quarterback in their preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons. That game will also set up a matchup against Milton’s former Tennessee teammate James Pearce Jr on the Falcons.
