After what he was able to get done with the Tennessee Volunteers during his playing days in Knoxville, plenty of people still keep a close eye on quarterback Joe Milton III. He made the move to the pros last year, getting drafted in the sixth round by the New England Patriots.

While Milton was hoping to have a long and fruitful career with the AFC East side, it might be time for him to start packing his bags. In 2024, the Pats also took Drake Maye with the No. 3 overall pick and this is his team. With that in mind, Jordan Schultz is reporting that the New England front office is looking to trade the former Tennessee QB with free agency here. Where will Milton land next?

The Patriots are reportedly looking to trade former Vols QB Joe Milton III

Milton only appeared in one game last season for New England, but it sure was a memorable one. In the regular-season finale against the Bills, he tossed for 241 yards and a touchdown, while adding another score on the ground. Yes, it was a meaningless game at the end of the campaign, but he stole the show and impressed a lot of people.

The fact of the matter here is that this is Maye's team, which is why New England is open to trading the second-year quarterback. The good news here too is that the Pats want to do right by him and make sure he's sent to a new organization that will help him with his development.

There are plenty of teams out there too who are in need of young quarterback help. Soon enough, we should find out where Milton will be calling home next, but it's safe to assume that he won't be playing for Mike Vrabel in 2025.
