Former Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton is still looking for his shot in the NFL and could get a chance to showcase his skills after being traded to the Dallas Cowboys this offseason.
Milton appeared in one game with the New England Patriots in his rookie season after being drafted in the 6th round by the Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft.
He showed out in his single appearance, though. Milton went 22-for-29 for 241 passing yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 16 yards and one rushing touchdown on the day.
Despite the surprisingly good first start for Milton, the Patriots are all-in on Drake Maye being the quarterback of the future in Foxboro and shipped Milton to Dallas.
Milton is already showing more sparks in Dallas with hopes to win the starting job from franchise quarterback Dak Prescott.
Milton made one pass that will make all Vols fans excited, as he connected with former Tennessee teammate Princeton Fant during training camp.

Milton and Fant spent two seasons as teammates on Rocky Top before Fant was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cowboys after the 2023 NFL Draft.
Fant has appeared in ten games throughout two seasons with the Cowboys, but primarily in a special teams role. He has been moved from the practice squad to the active roster or vice versa 11 times over his two seasons with America's Team, so he's still trying to find his place on the Cowboys' roster.
Both Milton and Fant should make this year's Cowboys roster, which could make for some exciting plays if each of them can rise up the depth chart throughout the preseason.
