Jon Gruden visited the Georgia Bulldogs this week to experience a part of their Fall Camp. During his visit, he spoke with the team, mentioning his eagerness to return to coaching, specifically in the SEC.

"The only reason I really came here is because I want to coach again. I'm being honest with you. I'd die to coach in the SEC. I would love it," Gruden shared in front of the Georgia coaching staff and players.

Gruden has been visiting camps across the country with Barstool Sports. Along with Georgia, he has also made stops with the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tennessee Titans.

This isn't the first time Gruden has been tied to the words "SEC" and "head coach". He was a part of almost every Tennessee football coaching search since Lane Kiffin left Rocky Top for USC.

Grumors were popular after the Butch Jones era, which seemed to be the most likely chance he could come to Tennessee. Instead, he turned the momentum into another NFL opportunity with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders.

His first NFL head coaching job was with the Raiders in 1998, so his return to Oakland was nostalgic. He carried the Raiders through their transition to Las Vegas but was fired after five seasons and a 22-31 record.

He has since joined Barstool Sports as a media personality, reviving the popular Gruden QB School series, where he sits down with college quarterbacks ahead of the NFL Draft.

There could be a couple of SEC programs looking for a new head coach after the 2025 season if Gruden is serious about returning to coaching and giving the college level a try.
