Josh Dobbs has joined his sixth team since joining the league in 2018. In his first preseason game with the New England Patriots, he immediately made a highlight play to add to his career highlight reel.

The Patriots beat the Washington Commanders 48-18 on Friday night, securing the first preseason win of the year. Dobbs is currently battling to be Drake Maye's backup this season.

Dobbs went five-for-12 for 45 yards passing and two yards rushing with one touchdown. His rushing total wasn't particularly impressive, but those two yards were highlight-worthy, and the Patriots' social media account made sure to let everyone know.

These types of plays are nothing new for Tennessee fans. We have been seeing Dobbs make these types of plays for nearly a decade now, throughout his time at Tennessee and his NFL career.

Patriots fans are starting to enjoy Dobbs as well. There is the possibility that Dobbs could take the field for the Patriots this year. If he can make highlight plays like that, the Patriots offense might not miss a beat if Maye is out for any reason.

Dobbs has experience as a starting quarterback at nearly every stop he has made throughout his career; however, he hasn't consistently achieved the success needed to be considered worthy of a starting job.

The Patriots will go on the road for their two remaining preseason games. They will head to Minnesota to play the Vikings on August 16 and then to New York to play the Giants on August 21, wrapping up the quick preseason.
