The Tennessee regular season is over, and as if the coaching carousel wasn't spinning fast enough already, it is turning a lot in the two days since the college football regular season ended. Many programs have already secured their head coach, including LSU, Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Arkansas.

The biggest program still up for grabs, though, right now is Penn State, which was one of the first major programs to fire its head coach this season. After losing its first three Big Ten games this season, the Nittany Lions parted ways with James Franklin, who is now the head coach at Virginia Tech.

With the Penn State position still open, they are looking at many coaches that have not been secured by extensions or raises, and one of those guys is Tennessee's head coach, Josh Heupel.

Josh Heupel doesn't hold back on Penn State's future when turning down the position

Josh Heupel has been all over the country when it comes to coaching and has coached in just about every major conference. He spent time in the Big 12 with Oklahoma and then in the American Athletic Conference with UCF before landing at Tennessee in the SEC.

Heupel has the opportunity to go to the Big Ten as Penn State showed its interest, but the Volunteers' head coach told the Nittany Lions exactly why he doesn't think it will work out.

"I wouldn’t want low expectations," Heupel told Chris Low with On3. "That’s part of why I want to be here. We’ll win big."

Basically, Heupel is saying that he sees more of an opportunity to be successful at Tennessee than at Penn State. Apparently, Heupel doesn't think the Nittany Lions have much going for them anymore and doesn't see much of a plan for success for that program.

Well, Tennessee fans can rest easy knowing that Heupel isn't going anywhere, and he still has big plans to win it all with the Volunteers.
