It has been an incredible start to the season for the Tennessee Lady Vols. Despite suffering a loss to Oklahoma, the first L of the year for the program, Kim Caldwell has won over countless people in Knoxville due to what she's getting done both on and off the court.
Tennessee is ranked the No. 16 team in the country and owns a 13-1 record. Yeah, not too bad at all for Caldwell in her first season in charge of the Vols. You know who has noticed what Caldwell has been able to do? That'd be the one and only Kim Mulkey.
Mulkey and LSU are off to a dream start, posting a 17-0 record thus far. The Tigers are ranked the No. 6 team in the country and they're hoping to make a statement against Tennessee on Thursday night. Leading up to tip-off, though, Mulkey gave Caldwell a ton of praise and said the system she runs is 'unlike anything I have ever seen,' which is pretty cool to see:

LSU's Kim Mulkey knows Kim Caldwell is doing incredible work with Tennessee
When a coach like Mulkey speaks, it's time to listen. In 2023, Mulkey helped LSU take home its first ever women's college basketball National Championship. It was her fourth time winning it all as either a coach or player.
Mulkey is one of the most respected coaches in all of college sports, so you've got to love that she sees the enormous potential that Caldwell has. Not only has Caldwell been winning plenty of games in her first season in town, but she's also posting plenty of huge victories out on the recruiting trail too.
On Thursday night with the Tigers in town, five-star power forward Oliviyah Edwards will be on hand as part of her visit. Edwards is ranked the No. 1 power forward in the country for the 2026 class and she is the No. 4 player nationally.
A head-turning visit could help Caldwell earn her verbal pledge. Obviously, taking down LSU would surely make a big-time difference too. Mulkey is ready to prevent that from happening, though.
