Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs are set to make their first road trip of the season on Saturday as they travel to Rocky Top to take on Tennessee.
Georgia hasn't had many issues with Tennessee throughout the Kirby Smart era, with the Bulldogs winning eight straight matchups, dating back to Georgia's 41-0 win in 2017.
With Smart's success against the Vols, especially on the road, he doesn't believe the Neyland crowd will be much of an issue thanks to their preparation. He also mentions it comes down to the 22 players on the field, not the 100,000 fans in the stands.
"We'll find out, that's for sure," Smart said after Georgia's 28-6 win. "You know what I mean? It's a different demeanor when you go on the road in the SEC, especially when you have not been on the road. Study the stats on that. You ain't been on the road, and your first road game is in the SEC.
"We had that a couple of years ago at Auburn. It's always an adventure. We've been preparing for that, knowing that all along it's going to be different when you go up there. You've got to be prepared for it. You've got to have confidence in your plan. You've got to go execute as a unit. It's not you against 100,000. It's you against 11-11."
While Smart didn't come out and directly say that Tennessee fans won't impact the game, it is clear he doesn't seem concerned about the Tennessee crowd, and he is focusing on his 11 players on the field against Tennessee's 11 players.
We've seen how the Neyland crowd can change a game, especially in recent years. Bad snaps, miscommunication, and missed assignments can be common when Vol Nation brings their best on any given Saturday.
