The New England Patriots traded Joe Milton to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. LeSean McCoy wasted no time making an insane statement about the trade regarding Dak Prescott and Milton's future with America's Team.
McCoy discussed the trade on FS1's "The Facility" with Emmanual Acho, James Jones, and Chase Daniel. The show aims to discuss sports topics from an athlete's perspective, and they don't pull punches.
"If Dak Prescott has another Dak Prescott episode where he plays well in the regular season and he goes for that two playoff wins in nine years and has that type of moment, Joey [Milton] is going to step in there," McCoy said to open the segment.
"You think Tony Romo lost his job to Dak. Watch how this is going to unfold when you're making $60 million a year, and Joey come over there for a fifth [round pick]."
Emmanual Acho explains this has been common for Cowboys quarterbacks since the start of the new millennium. Tony Romo took the job from franchise quarterback Drew Bledsoe, Dak Prescott took the job from franchise quarterback Tony Romo, and now Joe Milton is in Dak's position after he was drafted in the 2016 NFL Draft.
While Acho mentioned he didn't think Milton would take Prescott's job, he recognized that it has not been uncommon for quarterbacks in Milton's position to take the starter's job, which reignited McCoy's argument that Milton will be the Cowboys' next starting quarterback.
"I'm going to go on the line and say for my career on TV," McCoy said. "Joe Milton will be the next starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. It might not be this year, but next year might be the year he will be the next starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys."
The rest of the panel agreed with McCoy that if Dak can't win in the playoffs or has another injury-riddled season, he could lose the Cowboys' starting quarterback job.
McCoy finished the segment by telling Dak to find a realtor if he doesn't break into the playoffs in the upcoming season.
"I'll be honest, man," McCoy said to wrap up the segment. "If Dak Prescott has the postseason he always had next year, Dak find a realtor because Joe Milton got talent he can play."
That's a bold statement from the longtime Philadelphia Eagles running back, but he clearly feels that Milton has the potential to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL and will do that with the Dallas Cowboys.
