The long wait is over. With SEC Media Days here, Tennessee football coach Josh Heupel will be meeting with everyone and some hard-hitting questions are surely going to be on the way for him. Hey, this is why Heupel is paid the big bucks.

With fall camp right around the corner, now is the time for Heupel to calm some nerves with some (hopefully) positive updates surrounding his program. A big question people have on their minds is will Joey Aguilar be confirmed as the team's starting quarterback for 2025? Heupel will surely be asked about that on Tuesday.

Josh Heupel said there will be an open Tennessee QB battle at fall camp

• In a bit of a surprise, Josh Heupel has said that no decision has been made on who his starting quarterback will be vs. Syracuse. It's an open competition between Aguilar, Jake Merklinger and George MacIntyre. For those of you expecting Aguilar to be handed the job, that won't be the case:

• Heupel said that Tennessee fans are 'nothing short of the best in the country.'

• Heupel confirmed again that there will be a QB battle. He said Tennessee has won with multiple quarterbacks in the past and he's confident the Vols will be able to play well with whoeever wins the job during fall camp.

• When will Jermod McCoy return to the field for Tennessee? That's up in the air, as Heupel said there's no set timetable for him.

• How many fans on the season tickets waiting list? Yeah, that'd be 24,000.
