It's not often you see Tennessee freshman Nate Ament get super pumped up, but today was one of those days.

This is absolutely great to see. Nate Ament is super fired up after a massive block against Virginia's wing Sam Lewis. He caught the ball up top, pumped faked and the Vols bit. It looked to have a wide open lane to the hoop. But nope! All of a sudden, Lewis was rejected by the freshman star Ament.

Even better, Ament came out of his shell and let out a roaring yell, which isn’t often, and he was very passionate about the big block he just made. I love seeing this kind of fire from Ament, who is more of a shy, timid player. Ament is clearly passionate about playing for Tennessee, as he’s basically begged to get on the court after the injury. He wants to win badly and has a genuine love for Knoxville, the fans, and head coach Rick Barnes.

Nate Ament is needed in the second half

The good news is that Ament is back, and he’s ready to ball. Right now at halftime, he’s got three points and three rebounds, but with 20 more minutes to play, you can bet he won’t go down without a fight. He’s done a nice job defensively so far, and he is playing aggressively.

However, Tennessee will need Ament to step up here as the game ends, because it is looking like things could come down to the wire. Let’s go, Vols, close this out, and let’s play another weekend.
