New AP Top 25 can have Tennessee fans dreaming of taking down No. 1 Texas

Fresh off a head-turning win on the road against Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Josh Heupel have moved up three spots in the new AP Top 25 poll, now checking in at No. 15 in the country. Gotta love it! However, that doesn't tell the whole story here. That's because Texas is the new No. 1 team in the nation after stunning Ohio State in Austin.

That's good and well for the Longhorns, but it now sets up a BLOCKBUSTER affair in Knoxville once Sept. 26 gets here. Come Week 4, the Vols are going to host Arch Manning and Co. at Neyland Stadium for what should be an incredible environment. With Texas playing UTSA next week and Tennessee facing Kennesaw State, it's fair to assume both of those teams will enter that battle at 3-0 each.

The table is set for Tennessee to potentially take down No. 1 Texas in Week 4

This, barring a total shocker, will be a meeting between two top-15 teams. Knoxville is going to be rocking all week for that matchup, especially with the way the AP Poll has shaped out following Week 2. In the win over Georgia Tech, the Vols were far from perfect, but a 21-point win on the road is nothing to sneeze at.

With that too you've got to give credit to Faizon Brandon, as the freshman quarterback did what was needed to lift his team to a win. DeSean Bishop posted a career-high 147 yards too, with his running style needing to be on full display against the Longhorns once Sept. 26 does get here.

As for the Longhorns, they're of course riding high following the improbable comeback win over then No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday night. Texas was down 20-3 in the fourth quarter, but somehow managed to come back from the dead for the eye-opening victory. That feeling of taking down the No. 1 team is something the Vols will hope they can match as well later this month.

In order for that to happen, Tennessee will have to make sure that everyone plays at their best. On top of that, Heupel is going to call on Vols everywhere to continue to be the best fanbase in college sports, with the hope of rattling Manning and the rest of the Texas offense.

That's of course going to be easier said than done, but you never know what might happen at Neyland Stadium with the Tennessee faithful ready to go all out to help this team in any way they can. Ahead of Week 4, countless people had this upcoming showdown circled on their calendars. Thanks to the new AP Top 25, it has 100 percent been made even more intriguing. We can't wait for kickoff.
