Is this a road game or a home contest for the Tennessee Vols football team? Yes, the meeting between UT and Ohio State is being played at The Shoe in Columbus, but all everyone can see on their televisions screens is how much orange is being displayed.
We knew the Vols were going to travel well to support Josh Heupel and his players, but did anyone expect this? Ohio State supporters are allegedly among the best in the world, but they allowed so many people from Knoxville to take over their stadium. Wild, wild stuff.
Tennessee football fans have taken over The Shoe as expected
Nothing is going to matter before kickoff, as these two teams are going to battle it out on the field. The winner of this one will then move on to face No. 1 Oregon in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals. With that said, Ohio State indeed is getting trashed on social media thanks to all of the orange inside of the stadium:
The vibes at Ohio State are going to be so incredibly bad if they follow a Michigan loss with a CFP loss to Tennessee in an Ohio Stadium that's nearly half-orange.

Imagine claiming to be an elite fan base and letting your opponent take over for a playoff game. Couldn’t be mine. https://t.co/EQODZ876zE

There is more Tennessee fans than Ohio State fans at The Shoe 😳😳😳

Bad look for OSU fans 😬pic.twitter.com/SPd3fupNNV
What an embarrassment for Ryan Day and Ohio State. You get a home game in the College Football Playoff, and your opponent's fan base turns your own stadium into a road game atmosphere.

Ohio State fans… this is embarrassing.

I thought Tennessee fans were exaggerating about their potential attendance… they weren’t.
Just absolutely sad.
It's about a five-hour drive from Knoxville to Columbus. Clearly, countless people had no issues loading up their cars, filling up their tanks and making the commute. This is bad news for Ryan Day, as plenty of folks are upset with him as it is.
We don't want to call him out too much, but this really is a terrible look for him and his program. What kind of message is being sent when a visiting team can take over a stadium like this? In the end, none of this will matter unless the Vols can post an upset, but it sure is head-turning regardless.
