You just had a feeling this was coming. Throughout the week, Georgia Bulldogs fans have been posting the video of Kirby Smart intercepting Peyton Manning during a Tennessee Vols vs. UGA game quite a bit. Okay, Kirby was in the right place at the right time, we'll give him that.
But come on, it was a tipped pass and Manning is one of the best QBs in Tennessee history. As you might have been able to guess, with Smart joining the College GameDay crew on Saturday in Athens, Pat McAfee went all-in when breaking down the play.
Smart took the high road and wasn't taking the bait from McAfee. Manning will probably smile seeing this clip, but will the Vols end up getting the last laugh? We sure hope so.
College GameDay of course showed Kirby Smart's INT on Peyton Manning
Again, we knew this was coming. Smart showed incredible class in this clip, though. Matter of fact, he also gave Tennessee a ton of props for how well they've been playing this year while he was on stage with the crew. It was great to see from Smart, but McAfee's energy in the video sure has people talking.
People in Athens are FIRED UP for this game and the same can be said for everyone back in Knoxville. Come Saturday night, these two SEC powerhouses will take the field for what a lot of people think will end up being one of the best games of the season.
The good news for Tennessee here is that Nico Iamaleava has reportedly been cleared from the concussion protocol and he'll be starting. That's a huge boost for Josh Heupel and his staff. Soon enough, kickoff will arrive and the Vols will be hoping to send a statement. If they get the job done, we sure hope Manning fires back a little bit and trolls McAfee to return the favor.
