Tennessee baseball has secured its guy. The Vols announced on Saturday that Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Josh Elander will be Tennessee's next head baseball coach.

Elander was the popular choice among current and former players, coaches, recruits, and fans, but it ultimately came down to the Tennessee Athletic Director making the right decision and allowing Elander to continue building the best baseball program in America.

White announced the decision to hire Elander to the team on Saturday, released behind-the-scenes footage, and the players had the best reaction to the announcement.

Some former players shared some quotes in another awesome reaction. VFLs Jared Dickey, Zander Sechrist, and Griffin Merritt all shared their excitement for Elander.

Jared Dickey: “He is the reason people come to Tennessee. Because of the way he can talk."

Zander Sechrist: "I think he’s just go that killer instinct but more on the inside than on the outspoken.”

Griffin Merritt: "The respect for him is through the roof for the players. He’s literally V(itello) 2.0 but just more personable with players.”

One of the best pitchers in the MLB, Garrett Crochet, also shared his thoughts on Coach E, stating he and Vitello are two sides of the same coin.

Current and former players aren't the only ones excited about this decision. Tennessee baseball recruits are also sharing their reaction and celebrating Coach E on social media, including Cooper Burti, who stated he is "200% committed" to Tennessee and Elander.

Assistant coach Ross Kivett, who is on his second stint on Rocky Top as an assistant coach, is also excited to continue building on what Vitello started, sharing a gif that reads "the show goes on."

Former Tennessee baseball coach Dave Serrano also called on Elander as the "next guy up" earlier this week and celebrated the promotion on social media, claiming the "baseball gods must be real."

Fan reaction also met expectations as Vols fans are just as excited that Elander received the promotion to head coach.

I could go on, and on, and on with player, former player, and fan reactions on social media. Dozens of people around the program are celebrating the decision to promote Elander, and now he has a chance to lead the program he has dedicated nearly a decade to building as one of the best programs in the country.
