Jermod McCoy

The Tennessee coaching staff had to revamp its defensive secondary this offseason after losing virtually everyone either through graduation or the transfer portal. The Vols secondary was slim, so Heupel and the coaching staff went to work to bring in top talent and improve the secondary as a whole.

One player who could make an immediate impact for the Vols is Jermod McCoy. After his freshman season at Oregon State, McCoy jumped in the portal and committed to Tennessee. The Vols defense immediately improved, and they added a playmaker with P5 experience.

Tennessee receivers have also taken notice throughout Fall camp. Squirrel White says that the secondary has improved "tremendously" with the addition of McCoy.

Andre Turrentine also noted that McCoy is "making plays I haven't seen from anyone at that position since I've been playing here." So there's a lot to be excited about with the Vols' new and improved secondary with the addition of McCoy.
