3 Tennessee football underclassmen impressing throughout Fall Camp

Boo and Arion Carter could be some of the biggest assets on the Vols defense this season. Boo in the secondary has been a big reason, along with McCoy, as the reason the secondary has seen such big improvements. Arion's size and speed allow for him to be a dynamic linebacker for the Vols, and he could be a leader on the defense this year.
Tennessee linebackers coach William Inge praised Arion earlier this month. "You can see he's going to be one of the elite linebackers that you all will be talking about in the days to come, in the years to come."
Boo has been just as impressive, if not a little more, throughout camp. He has been named to On3 Sports' Preseason True Freshman All-American list and is looking to step up in a big way for the Vols as he looks to be the answer at Tennessee's STAR position on defense.
Tennessee players and coaches on both sides of the ball have praised Boo throughout Fall camp. He has matured and grown into a player that could be special for the Vols, and it's only his first season on Rocky Top.
"I feel like he has picked up on what we are trying to do here and has taken it in stride," junior safety Andre Turrentine said. "He has been able to apply it to the game and grow as not just a high school player but an SEC player.
These aren't the only underclassmen who will be impact players for the Vols, but these guys stood out during Fall camp. Other guys like Nico Iamaleava have also been talked about a lot, but he's not the only one standing out from the rest ahead of Tennessee's season opener.
Tennessee officially kicks off the 2024 season with Chattanooga on Saturday. The Vols and Mocs kickoff at 12:45 PM ET, and the Nico era in Knoxville begins with a revamped defense and an improved offense.
