The next player on this list is Texas' Chris Johnson, who had a bit more of a dramatic end to his recruiting process. The Longhorns' guard was a four-star out of high school with a 92 grade and remains a four-star prospect in the portal with a 90 grade.

Johnson's recruiting process started and ended with Kansas, or at least that's how it initially seemed. He took his official visit to Lawrence, committed, enrolled, signed, and de-committed in the summer of 2023. That's when he joined the Longhorns a few weeks later.

Now, he plans to leave his second Big 12 program and could be ready to join the SEC. Where's the best place to stay competitive in one of the best conferences in college athletics? The program that most recently won an SEC Championship in basketball.

Here's some of what 247Sports' Adam Finkelstein said about Johnson, "Johnson is a big guard with size and strength alike. Defensively, he has tools that should eventually be able to translate at a high level, although he has yet to make that end of the floor a consistent priority. Overall, he is confident, physical, and plays with an edge, that can be either a competitive advantage or disadvantage depending on how it is impacting him. "
