Class of 2023. Kanaan Carlyle. Kanaan Carlyle. CG. 517. player. . . Kanaan Carlyle. 4-star (95 Grade)

Kanaan Carlyle is the only player on this list who has received a higher grade as a transfer than his initial grade out of high school. Carlyle is a four-star transfer and was a four-star out of high school, but his overall grade improved from a 93 out of high school to a 95 as a transfer.

Carlyle received offers from all over the country and made one visit to Georgia Tech but waited for Stanford to make the call and offer before committing to another school. He struggled academically at Stanford, which could have been a factor in his decision to transfer. However, if he is still looking to receive a top-tier education, Georgia Tech might have the upper hand on the Vols since Carlyle has already been on campus.

Here's what 247Sports' Adam Finkelstein said, "The scoring guard missed the first month of the season for what was reported as academic reasons, but made an immediate impact when debuting in December, including a 28-point outburst against Arizona in his fourth game. He finished the year having started 16 of 23 games and averaging 25.6 minutes, 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.

"Carlyle was unable to sustain the same shooting prowess from behind the three-point line that he showed in December, and ultimately saw his percentage dip down to 32% from that range. He was, however, an increasingly versatile scoring threat, if not always an efficient one, as he attempted 33% of his shots at the rim and 42% in the mid-range area per Pivot Analysis."
