. . 3-star (87 Grade). player. 2287. Rodney Brown. SG. Rodney Brown. Rodney Brown. Class of 2023

Rodney Brown is a three-star prospect out of California, so it might be a bit more difficult for Barnes and the Vols to bring him to Tennessee. Most of Brown's recruiting came from the West Coast and teams formerly in the PAC-12 Conference.

One positive Tennessee could lean on is travel for the upcoming season. Cal, a new member of the ACC, will have to travel across the country for its away games. If Brown comes to Tennessee, travel wouldn't be nearly as bad as one of the West Coast teams joining conferences nationwide.

Brown showed interest in Oregon State before committing to Cal, but OSU will be in the same situation as Cal regarding travel. The Vols should make that a selling point for any player looking to get away from a university in the PAC-12.

The only other programs that showed interest in Brown were UC Santa Barbara, Washington State, and Southern California, so if Tennessee is still interested, it looks like their main competition will still be schools on the West Coast.
