George Washington III. . . 3-star (84 Grade). George Washington III. SG. Class of 2023. player. George Washington III. 485

George Washington III is the only player on this list who visited Tennessee's campus and had an assistant coach visit him in Ohio while he was still in high school. During his initial recruitment, he committed to Ohio State before de-committing and choosing the Wolverines over the Buckeyes.

He was a four-star prospect out of high school but has dropped to a three-star after oen season in Ann Arbor. He could look to return home and play for someone in Ohio, but it could be a transfer portal option for the Vols.

He appeared in 22 games his freshman year and played a career-high 18 points in a loss to Illinois. He didn't score any points in that game and didn't score more than ten points in any game this past season.

It's unclear if Tennessee will target Washington or any of the other transfer portal players on this list, but they do have at least some connection to all of these guards going back to last year's recruiting cycle. All of these guards were recruited during the 2023 class, so we will see if Barnes and the Vols lean on their relationships with these players or target new players during the transfer portal window.
