Christian Moore is putting up insane stats in his first week in Double-A
The Los Angeles Angels drafted former Tennessee baseball superstar Christian Moore with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. He started his professional baseball career in Single-A with the Inland Empire 66ers but only spent a few days out west before getting called up to Double-A.
He has spent his first week with Angels' Double-A affiliate, the Rocket City Trash Pandas, and has been dominant at the plate. There were some concerns among Angels fans that Moore being called up early could hurt him more than it helped. Everything we've seen from Moore so far would indicate the exact opposite.
Through his first seven games in Double-A, Moore has hit .548 at the plate with a 1.194 OPS. Not only is he getting on base, he's hitting the ball out of the yard. He's hit six home runs in seven games, including two homers on Friday night, as he tears up opposing pitchers.
The hype surrounding Moore continues to build every day as he plays like the hottest player in the minor leagues. Even the Trash Pandas recognize he is playing out of this world in his first couple of weeks in professional baseball.
Moore has been one of the best hitters at every level this season. He's hit 40 home runs throughout the year, including his college and professional baseball stats, which is unreal for any player at any level of baseball.
Moore will look to finish the Trash Pandas' series strong against the Birmingham Barons as the Double-A season has just over one month remaining. Moore will also make his return to Tennessee this week when the Trash Pandas travel to Chattanooga for a series with the Lookouts starting on Tuesday.
