Tennessee football is preparing for its first test of the season against North Carolina State in a neutral-site ranked matchup in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Vols and Wolfpack both have championship ambitions in 2024, which makes this a great early-season test for Tennessee.

The Vols opened as four-point favorites when the line opened this summer, but it has been creeping up in Tennessee's favor throughout the week. The line moved to 9.5-10.5 points in favor of Tennessee this week but dropped to 8.5 points at the time of writing.

This means Vegas and America really like the Vols in this one after seeing both teams in Week One. Tennessee seems like the better team after the first week of the season. The Vols beat Chattanooga 69-3, while NC State struggled against Western Carolina but eventually pulled away to win 38-21.

The College Gameday crew seems to agree with the majority as they unanimously picked Tennessee to defeat NC State.

Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, guest picker Michael Phelps, and Lee Corso all picked the Vols to win this early-season ranked matchup against the Wolfpack.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava has brought a ton of hype with him, especially after seeing his dominant performance against Chatt last week. The offense was moving the ball like the 2022 team, which could lead to great things for Tennessee this year if they are able to replicate the 2022 Vols' success.

Tennessee and NC State will kick off at 7:30 PM ET on Saturday night. The primetime-ranked matchup features an all-star TV crew: Rece Davis will call the play-by-play, Kirk Herbstreit will join him in the booth, and Holly Rowe will report from the sideline.
