Former Tennessee football players are making highlight plays in the final week of the NFL Preseason as they look to make rosters throughout the league. Josh Dobbs' San Fransisco 49ers opened Week 3 of the Preseason against Ramel Keyton's Las Vegas Raiders, and both VFLs made all-pro plays.

Dobbs is looking to make the 49ers' regular season roster and beat out Brandon Allen for the QB2 job, backing up Brock Purdy. The easiest way to do that is to give your team a chance to win, and that's exactly what Dobbs did on Friday night.

He finished the game eight-for-ten with 72 passing yards and one touchdown, which required an elite throw through the Raiders defense to find the endzone.

Dobbs' touchdown pass gave the Niners a 24-21 lead late in the third quarter, and it was also the 49ers' only passing touchdown of the game. Allen also looked good, going five-for-seven for 60 yards, but Dobbs might've done enough to secure the QB2 spot on the depth chart.

On the opposing sideline, Keyton led the Raiders in receiving with four catches for 76 yards. One of those catches was an insane one-handed catch in the middle of the 49ers' coverage, instantly making the highlight reel as one of the best catches of the 2024 preseason.

Keyton didn't hear his name called on draft night but has been given an undrafted free-agent contract with the Raiders for the preseason. He didn't see the field much this preseason but finished with five catches for 84 yards, which might be good enough to earn him a roster spot after his breakout performance on Friday night.

Rookie Vols throughout the league will look to use the final preseason game to earn their spots on rosters and make an impact for the franchise that drafted or signed them.
