Tennessee baseball's matchup in the Super Regional is set after Evansville defeated East Carolina 6-5 on Monday. The Aces will travel to Knoxville this weekend to take on the Vols in a three-game series for a spot in the College World Series in Omaha.

Evansville earned its spot in the winner's bracket after upsetting the No. 1 seed ECU Pirates in game one of the Greenville Regional. The Aces went on to beat VCU but lost game one of the championship round against ECU. However, they battled back on Monday to upset the Pirates again and advance out of the Greenville Regional.

Evansville is 37-24 on the season with a 17-10 conference record in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Aces have brought power to the plate, which has been the main reason for their success so far this season.

They have totaled 104 runs over the past ten games, which include the entire conference tournament and Greenville Regional. They have scored 17 runs in three separate games, two conference tournament games, and one regional game.

Everyone knows how strong Tennessee's offense can be at the plate. In comparison, Tennessee has scored 80 runs over the past ten games. The Vols bats have gotten hot over the past few games as they swept the Knoxville Regional, with a big part of that coming from their production at the plate.

The Aces pitching hasn't been consistent, but thanks to the power at the plate, they haven't had to be great. Evansville's pitching can give up two runs or 12 depending on the night, which could fall in Tennessee's favor. Evansville has a 5.98 team ERA compared to Tennessee's 3.80 ERA.

This could be one of the highest-scoring super regionals among the eight series being played this weekend. Both offenses know how to hit efficiently, and both teams can hit the ball far. If Tennessee's pitching staff can show up and do what they've been doing for most of the year, the Vols could make it a quick series, but if not, Tennessee could struggle to slow down the Aces at the plate.
