Tennessee baseball is officially hot in the transfer portal, which can be dangerous for other programs across the country. Not only did the Vols win the national championship earlier this summer, but Tony Vitello is reloading and getting ready to make a run at a second straight title.

After earning a few transfer portal commitments earlier this month, the Vols added two more transfers from SEC rival Ole Miss. Former Rebels third baseman Andrew Fischer and right-handed pitcher Liam Doyle committed to Tennessee on Tuesday.

Both additions are huge for the Vols, especially Doyle's strong arm. Fischer and Doyle were roommates at Ole Miss and look to bring their talents to Rocky Top for a shot at a national championship in 2025.

Fischer is the No. 2 player in the portal this cycle after an impressive sophomore campaign where he hit .285 at the plate with 20 home runs, 57 RBIs, and a 1.039 on-base plus slugging percentage. He was also named Second-Team All-SEC as a sophomore.

Tennessee will also be Fischer's third school in three years. The Manasquan, New Jersey native committed to Duke before transferring to Ole Miss for his sophomore season.

While Fischer brings another strong bat to the plate for the Vols, Doyle adds another strong arm to Tennessee's pitching staff. His numbers speak for himself as a top-15 player in this cycle's portal.

He pitched in 55.0 innings and recorded 84 strikeouts for the Rebels. That means 51% of the outs he recorded on the mound were strikeouts. He also had a 5.73 ERA, allowing 35 runs over 55 innings of work.

Doyle's high strikeout rate adds another pitching dynamic to Tennessee's staff, which already returns Nate Snead, Zander Sechrist, and Andrew Behnke.

He also joins former Kennesaw State pitcher Tanner Franklin to join the Vols through the transfer portal this cycle to continue stacking arms on the Vols pitching staff.

Fischer and Doyle mark this cycle's fourth and fifth transfer, and Hunter Ensley announced on Monday that he is also returning. So, it has been a great July for Tennessee baseball. The Vols are making the most of their success on this cycle's recruiting trail through the transfer portal.
