Tennessee baseball won its seventh straight SEC series after winning two out of three against the Florida Gators in Gainsville. The BaseVols have improved to a 39-9 record and 17-7 in conference play.

Fans had to wait until Saturday to see the Vols and Gators play after Friday night's game was postponed. They split the doubleheader with one win each, but Tennessee was too much for the Gators on Sunday, winning 16-3 and taking the weekend series on the road.

The Vols outscored Florida 35-9 in the weekend series with another explosive offensive performance against an SEC opponent. The win also helped push Tennessee's record on the road to 7-5 after starting the year struggling on the road.

As a result of another dominant weekend, D1Baseball and Baseball America have Tennessee as the No. 1 team in the nation. The Vols haven't been at the top of the college baseball rankings since two years ago when the Vols finished the 2022 season 57-9.

The Vols still sit one game behind Kentucky in the SEC standings, with the Wildcats posting an 18-6 record in conference play after winning two out of three against No. 2 Arkansas in Lexington. Arkansas's two losses helped push the Vols over the Razorbacks in the college baseball standings.

Texas A&M also lost two out of three over the weekend, with two losses to LSU in Baton Rouge. Arkansas and A&M's one win over the weekend pushed them to 40 wins each, but the Vols jumped both due to their series loss.
