Vanderbilt pulled off the unthinkable and beat No. 1 Alabama in Nashville in front of a raucous crowd in red and white. The Commodores' 40-35 win marks their first win against an AP top-five team, and Tennessee football fans are having a blast on social media with the upset.

VolTwitter took to the app now known as X to let the Volunteer State and SEC hear their applause for Vanderbilt miraculously taking down the Crimson Tide.

Vanderbilt had to take some risks to get the job done, including going for it on fourth down. They threw it up in the end zone and scored a huge touchdown to extend the lead over Alabama. Tennessee fans took notice of their shot on fourth and one.

It's going to be a rough weekend for Alabama fans. The fans who chose to make the trip to Nashville were expecting a fun weekend with friends or family but will have anything but that after their loss. FirstBank Stadium was covered in crimson, but the Tide's home-field advantage away from home didn't help on Saturday.

While the game was in the balance, Tennessee fans remembered what happened on Rocky Top in 2022 when the Vols defeated Alabama. They gave Vandy fans the route to take the goalposts to the Cumberland River if they could pull off the win, even offering support to bring down the goalposts.

The Dores did pull off the win and stormed the field in celebration. Vanderbilt students went straight to the goalposts and brought them down, despite anyone's doubt that they could get the job done.

After bringing down the goalposts, Vandy fans carried them out of the stadium. At that point, there wasn't too much security could do, so they joined in on the fun and recorded the fans carrying the goalposts out of FirstBank Stadium.

Now, Tennessee fans turn to their primetime matchup in Fayetteville against Arkansas. The Vols' defense will look to continue dominating while the offense finds its rhythm in a hostile environment.
