Tennessee football and Josh Heupel have been active on the recruiting trail. The Vols jumped into the top 15 in recruiting for the 2025 class with their most recent commit, four-star offensive lineman Douglas Utu from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Utu was the 16th player to commit to Tennessee in the 2025 recruiting class and the seventh four-star in the class. While the summer months are usually slow across college football, the Vols have been on fire, which could continue with the Vols momentum.

On3 Recruiting's Chad Simmons has made an expert prediction that four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte will flip from Georgia to SEC rival Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound linebacker has been committed to Georgia since December 8, 2022, but there's a lot of momentum from the Vols and other programs that are leading to a potential flip.

This prediction comes after Perlotte shared a picture in Orange and White holding the BCS National Championship Coaches' Trophy. His caption was simple, with three smiling face emojis included.

On3 has Perlotte as the No. 160 player in the country, No. 16 linebacker, and No. 22 player in Georgia.

Perlotte has also received an expert prediction from On3 Sports to flip to Florida State. On3 predicted that he would flip to the Seminoles last year, but Perlotte decided to stay with the Bulldogs.

The Vols were not involved in Perlotte's recruiting process until June, when he visited campus on June 14. He followed his visit to Rocky Top with another visit to Athens but is expected to flip to Tennessee after visiting both campuses last month.

If Perlotte does flip to the Vols, this would be the first commit for first-year linebackers coach William Inge, who joined Tennessee from Alabama. No better way to start his recruiting efforts than getting the commitment from a consensus top-15 linebacker and top-200 player in the country.
