Tennessee football continues to dominate early in the 2024 college football season. On Saturday night, the Vols followed up their 66-point win against Chattanooga with a 51-10 win over No. 24 NC State.

As a result, the Vols moved up in the Associated Press top 25 poll for the second straight week. The Vols came into Week Two as the No. 14 team in the country and moved into the top ten for the first time this season after another dominant showing.

After Saturday night's win, the Vols proved to the country that they are College Football Playoff contenders. They moved up to No. 7 in the AP Poll and No. 9 in the AFCA Coaches Poll.

With the Vols moving to No. 7 in the country, the SEC holds six of the top seven spots in the AP Poll, with Georgia at No. 1, Texas at No. 2, Alabama at No. 4, Ole Miss at No. 5, and Missouri at No. 6. Ohio State at No. 3 is the only non-SEC team in the top seven.

The Vols jumped ahead of Penn State and Oregon after unimpressive Week Two wins, and Miami joined the Vols in the top ten after another blowout win.

Other notable spots in the top 25 are Oklahoma, which stays at No. 15 after a 16-14 win over Houston; USC, which sits right outside the top ten at No. 11; and Northern Illinois, which appears at No. 25 after upsetting Notre Dame.

Tennessee now looks to Kent State in Week Three before having a bye week ahead of SEC play. They will then head to Norman to face Oklahoma. The Vols and Golden Flashes will kick off at 7:45 PM ET on the SEC Network.
