Tennessee has the best home field advantage in the nation
Tennessee athletics has been dominant over the past year. Tennessee has one of the best home-field advantages in the country between football, basketball, and baseball. Tennessee's big three sports put together one of the best combined years in college sports history.
We've seen some great teams, even a couple of great teams from the same school over the years, but to put together a great season in football, baseball, and basketball is virtually unheard of in college sports today.
According to Tennessee's Executive Associate Athletics Director of Brand Advancement/Chief Communications Officer, Jason Baum, the Vols have a 60-7 record at home, which is unheard of in those three sports in a single calendar year.
Tennessee football went 6-1 at home with its lone loss to Georgia, while Tennessee basketball more than doubled the football team's home win total with a 14-2 record at Thompson Boling Arena. Tennessee baseball was nearly untouchable at home, winning 40 of its 44 games.
From Neyland to TBA to Lindsey-Nelson, Vol Nation showed up and showed out to help its Vols win 89.5% of its home games since September 9, 2023.
Not only have the Vols been great at home, they've been great everywhere they've played. Tennessee holds a 96-26 record in the big three sports for the 2023-2024 season, which includes a Citrus Bowl win, a trip to the Elite Eight, and a College World Series Championship.
It's hard to beat that without adding a couple more trophies to the athletic department's trophy case, but Tennessee will have the opportunity to run it back again in the 2024-2025 season.
Tennessee football has revamped its roster and prepared for its first season with Nico Iamaleava as the full-time quarterback. Josh Heupel and the coaching staff have an improved secondary with additional weapons on offense to help the young quarterback guide the Vols to the College Football Playoff.
Tennessee basketball and Rick Barnes have rebuilt their roster through the transfer portal and are preparing to at least repeat in a trip to the Elite Eight, with eyes set on a Final Four or National Championship.
Tony Vitello has already proved what he can do with Tennessee baseball and will look to repeat as SEC and National Champions.
