Former Indianapolis Colts punter and now renowned TV personality Pat McAfee has officially announced his return to the College Gameday desk for the weekly college football show.

College Gameday is one of the most-watched shows on Saturdays before games start that allows fans to see featured stories on certain teams and players, give an in-depth analysis of matchups, and have expert picks on certain big matchups. The show travels all around the country picking one of the big games of the week to travel to.

McAfee joined the show back in 2019 as a guest but joined as a full time analyst in 2022 joining fellow analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, and Rece Davis.

The former punter and regular guest with WWE has definitely brought a new type of personality to the ESPN College Gameday desk.

The return of McAfee was one that was uncertain for quite some time as some college football fans were not so keen on the 37-year-old. McAfee would do some pretty unpredictable things on the show such as taking off his shirt and flexing, throwing raw fish into the crowd, cursing during some segments, crowd surfing, and even jumping into a Texas river at a Baylor game.

Even though some people were not McAfee's biggest fans, he brought even more attention to the college football scene.

With the uncertainty around McAfee's return to the show, he was rewarded with his own weekday show on ESPN with his podcast moving to TV known as "The Pat McAfee Show" that even comes with its own disclaimer.

Even though there are mixed feelings about the return of McAfee to the College Gameday desk, some fans are saying that this could be big for FOX Big Noon Kickoff as some fans will choose to switch channels.

With MCAfee's personality, there is no way any college football fan can avoid seeing McAfee on their screen at some point on Saturdays.
