A big decision is on the way for one of the top 2026 playmakers and the Tennessee football team remains in the hunt to land his services. Throughout his recruitment this cycle, programs across the country have been going after 5-star EDGE Rodney Dunham.
Dunham has picked up more than 30 offers throughout his recruitment and while he has five official visits scheduled for this spring, he's getting ready to announce his decision on April 10. Tennessee and Josh Heupel are in the hunt to land his services, but they're battling Duke, Georgia, South Carolina and Notre Dame. Who will end up receiving his verbal?

5-star EDGE Rodney Dunham has Tennessee among his finalists with an April 10 decision date
A Charlotte, N.C. product, Dunham is scheduled to take an official visit to Tennessee on June 20, but things are up in the air there depending on what he decides next month. Should he end up picking the Vols, it'd no question be a massive get for Heupel and his staff.
According to the On3 rankings, Dunham is ranked five stars, the No. 3 EDGE in the country, No. 3 player from North Carolina and No. 18 player overall nationally. He's a monster in the trenches, having no issues at the prep level making opposing offensive linemen look silly.
Notre Dame is considered a strong favorite to pick up his commitment, but you never know what might end up happening in recruiting. It helps the Vols that 5-star quarterback Faizon Brandon is also an NC native. The Vols could sell Dunham on the two of them playing together at the next level.
Last week, the Vols missed out on 5-star wide receiver Trisken Keys, who unfortunately gave Brian Kelly and LSU his pledge. Missing out on Dunham would be disappointing, but let's see how things go down on April 10. Dunham would be a stud in the SEC if he ends up playing for UT.
