The Tennessee Volunteers and head coach Rick Barnes have been playing the long game in the recruiting cycle this spring, vying for former Wake Forest guard Juke Harris.
Harris hit the transfer portal after his incredible season for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and since then, has kept his cards relatively close to the vest.
After reports shared that he had narrowed his search to the Michigan Wolverines and the Vols, it went extremely quiet on the western front. Now, after weeks of waiting to hear who Harris would commit to, long-time college sports reporter Chris Low expects him to announce his decision soon.
"Good to catch up with Rick Barnes," Low wrote on X. "He and his staff continue to construct the roster. Lotta proven scorers in the fold, and that’s not even counting Juke Harris, who I expect to make it official for the Vols very soon."
Chris Low sees Juke Harris committing to Vols soon
Most experts have indicated that Harris would commit to the Volunteers over the Wolverines, logging expert predictions that he would join Tennessee.
However, the waiting game had fans feeling restless, wanting to know which team Harris would play for next season. Low's update is a great indication that the waiting game could be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
Good to catch up with Rick Barnes tonight on The RTI Low-Down as he and his staff continue to construct the @Vol_Hoops roster. Lotta proven scorers in the fold, and that’s not even counting Juke Harris, who I expect to make it official for the Vols very soon. https://t.co/fTM14scaJh

During his sophomore season for the Demon Deacons, Harris averaged 21.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game.
When he hit the portal, he quickly became one of the more highly coveted transfer players and is undeniably the most highly anticipated commitment that is still to come. He also left the door open for him to head to the NBA, declaring for the Draft.
