Who's ready for Week 2 of the season to get here? Yes, the Tennessee football faithful can't wait for Week 1 against Syracuse to arrive, but Neyland Stadium is going to be PACKED for the home opener against East Tennessee State on Sept. 6.

When you're leaving home on the way to that game, no need to worry about making sure you've got cash on you. Wait, what? That's right, on Thursday it was announced by the university that Neyland Stadium is officially going to be cashless for the 2025 season. While this might not seem like a major change, it's something that indeed has the fanbase a little split on:

Neyland Stadium is officially going cashless for the 2025 Tennessee football season

Hey, we get both sides of things. On one hand, you've got to imagine that this is going to cut down the wait times at the concession stands, as people will be able to tap and go. No more having to wait for cashiers to take cash and give back change. Seems like a win-win, right?

On the other hand, what if the machines don't work properly and there's a delay in the system operating? What if the wifi goes down? Is there going to be a three percent fee to use a card? These are all reasons why people bring cash in the first place.

There are surely going to be some ups and downs with the cashless experience this fall. Should anything turn out to be negative, you already know that people are going to be quick to let athletic director Danny White hear all about it.

Plenty of Vols fans are upset with him as it is. Earlier this week, it was announced that the season ticket prices for the 2026 season are going to increase by four percent. It doesn't seem like much, but UT supporters are tired of all the changes. It seems like the cashless decision is something else that has a portion of the fanbase a bit annoyed too.
