Tennessee baseball fell apart in the SEC Tournament semifinal. The Vols were run-ruled 10-0 against Vanderbilt as the bats were cold, and the pitching struggled against the Commodores.

The Vols didn't bring their best stuff to the semifinal round against Vanderbilt. The 10:00 AM ET start could have played a factor, but between the Vols struggling to get on base and keep Commodores off base, it was a rough day for Tennessee.

This is Tennessee's third straight loss against Vanderbilt, putting the Vols at a 3-1 disadvantage over Vanderbilt in the season series.

Only one Tennessee pitcher survived two innings or more in the game. Two errors to add to Tennessee's rough outing on the mound, and the Commodores quickly took the lead and never looked back with a spot in the SEC Championship Game on the line.

With the semifinal loss, the Vols have lost its season series against its in-state rival for the first time since 2021.

Tennessee put itself in a good spot to be a regional host with its win over No. 1 seed Texas in the SEC quarterfinals. The blowout loss now puts the Vols back on the bubble and risks not hosting in the regionals.

The Vols will now head back to Knoxville and wait to see how some of the other teams on the bubble of hosting in the Regional Round do throughout the weekend.

Tennessee's tough outing on Saturday puts the ball in the other teams' hands, which are also competing for a top-8 seed in the NCAA Tournament and an opportunity to host Regionals.
