Tennessee baseball couldn't get over the early deficit against Wake Forest on Sunday night and lost 7-6 to the Demon Deacons on a walk-off hit to force a winner-take-all game on Monday.

It was another productive day for Andrew Fischer, who has been one of Tennessee's most productive hitters throughout the postseason so far. Fischer went 2-for-5 on Sunday night with a big home run in the fifth inning to cut Wake Forest's lead in half.

Gavin Kilen and Levi Clark also offered some big-time production, per usual. Kilen only went 1-for-4 on the night but pushed across the Vols' first run of the game in the third inning. Clark hit a huge two-run home run in the sixth inning to complete the comeback and tie the game at six runs each.

Unfortunately, that was the end of Tennessee's hot hitting as they couldn't spot another run in the final few innings.

Dylan Loy started for the Vols but didn't go very deep into the game. Loy only pitched 1.1 innings before Brandon Arvidson came in to pitch over five innings. Arvidson wasn't at his best, allowing three runs in the third and two runs in the fourth.

Arvidson settled in after that, finishing the game with 12 strikeouts before being pulled for Nate Snead, who eventually allowed the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

The loss snapped Tennessee's 14-game winning streak in the regional round. Prior to the loss, Tennessee had won every regional game since 2019, when it lost in the Chapel Hill Regional finale.

This also serves as deja vu for Vols baseball fans who were around for the 2001 season. In the regionals, Tennessee lost to Wake Forest 10-3 before battling back in the winner-take-all game and beating the Demon Deacons to advance to the first Super Regional in program history.

Tennessee and Wake Forest's winner-take-all game is set for 6:00 PM ET on Monday night. The winner will advance to the Super Regional Round to face Arkansas in Fayetteville.
