How in the world is this kid only a freshman? That's what plenty of Tennessee baseball fans are wondering, as baby-faced Levi Clark has been downright sensational to open the season for the reigning College Baseball World Series champs.
Clark, only 18 years old, made plenty of noise from the start, blasting a 3-run homer in his Vols debut against Hofstra. It was incredible to see. Then over the weekend, with Tennessee neck-and-neck against Samford, Clark stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the eighth in a pressure spot.
The bases were juiced and Tony Vitello was hoping that his freshman sensation could come up with a timely hit to bring the go-ahead run across the plate. Clark decided to do him one better, belting a no-doubter for a Grand Slam. Tennessee's social media team put together a new clip of the massive dinger and it's downright awesome:

Levi Clark is looking like a total stud already for the Tennessee baseball team
"Game-changing play by a game-changing player." Yup, we're not going to argue with that. Imagine being a freshman and Vitello calls on you to come in and pinch-hit in this kind of a situation. Let's be real here, for most youngsters, they'd be quite nervous.
That wasn't the case for Clark, as he stepped up to the dish with a ton of confidence and he waited for his chance to send the ball to the moon. There was zero doubt the ball was leaving the yard as soon as he made contact.
Clark hit the cover off the ball and his huge play was the difference in Tennessee posting a 7-3 win. Then on Sunday, the Vols were able to take care of business in dominant fashion, completing the series sweep.
Tennessee is off to a perfect 7-0 start and they should move up in D1Baseball’s new Top 25 when it comes out. Clark is just getting started too, as he is already proving to be a freshman people across the country are going to want to keep a close eye on for the rest of 2025.
