College baseball is officially coming to MLB The Show 25 after the game released its first gameplay trailer for the upcoming game. Tennessee baseball was featured in the trailer in multiple clips, along with LSU and UCLA.
Vanderbilt, TCU, South Carolina, and Cal State Fullerton logos were also featured on outfield walls, indicating that the men's College World Series, or an unofficial version of the postseason tournament, will be included in the game as well.
San Diego Studios, the game developer, released the trailer on social media platforms, highlighting the new features, including the addition of Tennessee.
This is the first time college baseball will be featured in the game, which primarily focuses on MLB but also has some minor league baseball sprinkled in it, with the "Road to the Show" feature that navigates players' journey from the minors to the MLB.
It seems Tennessee and the other college programs will be featured in the "Road to the Show" game mode. The gameplay trailer revealed that players will start their playing journey at the high school level and work through the college and minor league ranks before making it to the MLB.
Tennessee is coming off its first national championship in program history, so it only makes sense to feature the defending national champions in the first-ever MLB The Show game featuring college programs.
The Vols have lost a lot of production from its championship team, but additions like Liam Doyle, Andrew Fischer, Gavin Kilen, and Tanner Franklin have prepared the Vols to defend their national championship with another contender.
Tony Vitello and company have retooled their roster for the 2025 season. The Vols will start the 2025 campaign with a three-game series against Hofstra on February 14.
