He's only been on campus for a few months, but already 5-star forward Nate Ament is making a ton of noise for Tennessee basketball. He has been impressive during offseason practices, with the hype surrounding his name continuing to grow.
Leave it to 247Sports to add to the excitement for the new campaign to get here? This week, the outlet appeared to come out with new rankings for the 2025 class. Tennessee basketball fans remain quite excited about Nate Ament's potential
Okay, so was this some sort of a glitch in the system? For a little while, everyone in Knoxville thought the Vols had the No. 1 player in the country for men's basketball and the No. 1 player in the country on the gridiron on the way for the 2026 class.
Quarterback Faizon Brandon is locked in to play for UT and Josh Heupel, and he's indeed the top-ranked prospect for the '26 haul. The future could not be brighter for him and Ament, as countless people can't wait to see the two in action in their respective fields.
For now, Ament will take the hardwood this fall and winter as the No. 4 prospect overall for '25, but he's going to be ready to remind everyone why he's a 5-star talent and a projected first-round pick in next year's NBA Draft.
When he committed and signed with Tennessee, it was the biggest get in the history of the program and a major win for head man Rick Barnes. The Vols, who also loaded up in the transfer portal, have dreams of reaching the Final Four for the first time ever. Should that happen this upcoming April, Ament will need to be at his best and play like one of the top freshmen out there.
