Earlier this month, the Tennessee football team was able to send a bit of a statement out on the recruiting trail, flipping a 4-star offensive line commit from South Carolina - that was Kamari Blair. Is head man Josh Heupel about to do more of the same, but this time to Hugh Freeze?
That's on the table, as 4-star Auburn EDGE commit Hezekiah Harris is closing in on his 'final decision' and Tennessee is one of two teams in the hunt to change his mind. According to Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, Harris will be officially shutting down his recruitment on Sept. 1 and he'll announce between Auburn, Tennessee and Florida. Will the Vols pull this off?

Tennessee football is hoping to flip 4-star Auburn EDGE commit Hezekiah Harris
Harris committed to Auburn over a year ago, but teams haven't stopped reaching out to him. The Vols were able to get him on campus on June 20 for an official visit, which was the last of his three trips in May/June. He was at Auburn on May 30 and Florida on June 6.
Clearly, all of those three schools have made a big impact on him. If Harris is indeed making the final decision on Sept. 1 and he's announcing that call, could it be that he's hinting he's having a change of heart and will switch to either Tennessee or Florida?
That's what we'd like to think, but it could also end up being him letting the Auburn faithful know that he'll be headed to The Plains after all once the 2026 campaign gets here. Whoever ends up signing Harris is going to be getting quite the playmaker.
According to the 247Sports Composite, the 6-5, 220-pounder is ranked four stars, the No. 13 EDGE in the country, No. 7 player from Alabama and the No. 100 prospect nationally for the 2026 class. Come next week, we'll all find out where he'll be playing his college ball. Tennessee still has a chance to get things across the line and improve what's already a loaded 2026 haul.
