The first round of the 2026 NFL Draft came and went, and zero Tennessee Volunteers heard their names called.

However, with the second and third rounds just hours away from unfolding, a few Vols need to get ready to pack their bags with a new team to call home, including Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy.

Projected to be Tennessee's highest pick of this year's draft, McCoy has been expected as a late second-round or even early third-round selection, slipping down draft boards after his torn ACL and subsequent knee surgery sidelined him for all of last season.

In ESPN's Matt Miller's latest Mock Draft ahead of the second night, he had McCoy going at an ideal time in the second round.

Miller had the New York Giants selecting McCoy 37th overall, fifth in the second round, beefing up a lackluster defensive secondary, meaning McCoy could see a lot of playing time very quickly.

Despite ESPN's Peter Schrager expressing concern over McCoy's physical health, Miller is extremely confident in the cornerback's abilities and future in the league.

"McCoy ranked as my No. 10 overall prospect in the class based off film study..." Miller wrote. "The Giants will jump on the opportunity to select a top-10 player at a core position of need.

While the Giants aren't the same franchise that won two Super Bowls in just a handful of years, New York is seemingly going through a revitalization with new head coach John Harbaugh at the helm.

Jermod McCoy expected to join NY Giants' two 1st round picks

In the first round, the Giants selected former Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese (fifth overall) and former Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa (10th overall), adding power and size on both sides of the ball.

In the second round, New York only has the 37th overall pick, and as of now, the Giants don't have any picks in the third round, meaning McCoy could easily be their only selection on Night 2.

Currently, the Giants have five picks spread out over the last four rounds of the NFL Draft, unless Harbaugh and the franchise decide to trade players or their current picks for a handful of selections.
