We thought the Tennessee football team was all set to keep its hot streak going with another pledge on Sunday night. The Vols have picked up four commitments since Friday and plenty of fans were hoping that yet another playmaker would join the list. However, that's not going to be the case.
Moments ago, 4-star offensive lineman Brandon Anderson decided to shut down his recruitment for the second time. This time, however, he's announced for Missouri. Plenty of you are familiar with Anderson, as he was previously committed to the Vols, but he decommitted earlier this year.
Despite that, Anderson made it quite clear that he was still high on Tennessee and that the program remained in the hunt to still land him. He took an official visit to Knoxville on June 20. However, with the Vols picking up a commitment from interior offensive lineman Edward Baker in recent days, it may have closed the door on him picking UT for a second time.

4-star OL Brandon Anderson has committed to Missouri over Tennessee and North Carolina
Following Anderson's recruitment has been quite the journey for the Tennessee faithful. He first landed his offer from the Vols on April 25, 2024. A little less than six months later, the 6-3, 325-pounder decided to commit to Tennessee, which was exciting news.
However, he backed off that decision in late January, which opened the door for new programs to offer him and also pick up their recruiting efforts. Anderson indeed took his official visit to Knoxville earlier this month and reports stated Tennessee was a potential leader for him.
In the end, he was down to the Vols, Missouri and North Carolina. He took his official visit to Mizzou on June 6 and followed that up with a trip to Chapel Hill on June 13. The Tigers went all-in for his pledge and they've been able to get the job done.
As we've written about in recent articles, however, a pair of additional verbals should be on the way on Tuesday for Tennessee, as 4-star playmakers TJ White and Dereon Albert are getting ready to make their announcements. The Vols are strong favorites for both players and getting good news from them will make people forget about Anderson's latest decision.
