Tennessee could be looking to complete its second trade of the offseason as they continue recruiting former Colorado cornerback Colton Hood.

Hood is expected to make a visit to Tennessee on Thursday following a visit to Miami. This would be a big pickup for the Vols out of the portal for nothing more than adding a depth piece to the Vols' secondary.

Hood was a four-star corner coming out of high school. After one season at Auburn and one season at Colorado, he remains a piece that could be a playmaker in Tennessee's secondary.

He is a three-star cornerback in the transfer portal this cycle and looking for his third school in as many years. In his two years in college, he has totaled 27 total tackles, one tackle for loss, and two interceptions, offering the Vols a defensive back with two years of experience at the Power Four level.

Tennessee looking to make a second trade of the offseason

If Tennessee can sign Hood, it would mark the Vols' second "trade" of the offseason. The first unofficial trade was between the Vols and UCLA, where the Vols and Bruins exchanged quarterbacks Nico Iamaleava and Joey Aguilar.

Colorado has signed former Tennessee defensive back John Slaughter, setting up the Vols to make another unofficial "trade" during this offseason cycle if they can sign Hood from Colorado.

Slaughter was at Tennessee for two seasons, totaling six tackles and one interception. His commitment is one of nearly two dozen transfer commits for Colorado this recruiting cycle.

Swapping Slaughter for Hood would be an upgrade for the Vols as they add a corner with some SEC experience and a little more playing experience over the past two seasons at the P4 level.
